“We have known each other since we were three years old,” shares Erika Bain of her history with Sean Boner. Though their parents were friendly with one another, Erika and Sean never really got to know each other despite growing up and attending high school together. After college, they both moved back to their hometown, unintentionally setting the beginning of their forever in motion.

While out at dinner with his parents one night, Sean ran into Erika’s parents who insisted on setting them up. Shortly after, the couple-to-be enjoyed a group dinner with their families and went out the following weekend just the two of them. “After that, it was history!” smiles Erika.

When planning where to host their wedding, it was no surprise that they chose their beloved coastal city. “We wanted it to be in Palm Beach since that is where we were born and raised,” notes the bride. They selected a luxurious oceanfront resort for the rehearsal dinner, as well as the ceremony and reception.

“We spent summers at The Breakers as little kids and continue to spend time around the resort. It is a very special place to us,” she adds. To ensure the nuptials were exceptional, they entrusted Posh Parties to plan the celebration and take the lead on all of the details that made for an absolutely perfect day.

Before the January sun set, 130 guests found their seats on a manicured lawn facing the ocean for an alfresco Jewish ceremony. String musicians performed melodies by Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, John Legend, Lewis Capaldi, and Kygo to provide a modern, yet classic, feel. The bride made her way down the aisle to Elvis’ famed “Can’t Help Falling In Love.” Lined with floating candles in tall hurricane vases alongside clusters of fresh greenery and crisp white florals, the aisle led to a dramatic chuppah embellished with hundreds of snowy flowers and lush verdure.

“Being able to celebrate this special time with close friends and family was the most important aspect of the celebration.”

The groom confirms his favorite parts of the entire day were the ones focused on his bride and their marriage: the “first look” and the ceremony itself. “Both moments were just Erika and me alone, being able to take it all in and enjoy something that happens once in a lifetime,” he remembers. The bride agrees, noting one of her favorite moments as the first time she saw Sean during their “first look” prior to the vow exchange. “It’s a moment I will never forget. I was so full of joy and happiness,” reminisces Erika.

Since the entire event design was inspired by the gardens of elegant villas in Tuscany and the Amalfi Coast, décor similar to that of the ceremony was revealed during the reception. Friends and family took their seats at tables strewn with vanilla-toned linens and surrounded by golden chairs.

Centerpieces showcased either tall arrangements of foliage dotted with ivory roses and ranunculuses or low arrangements of similar blooms at the base of sculptural candleholders. The head table, where the bride and groom were seated in the center, was adorned with crystal candelabra and greenery.

Though they were required to take certain precautions to ensure attendees were safe, a live band created the ambience Erika and Sean desired. “They got our guests into a celebration mindset,” explains the groom. “They knew when to play various types and styles of music, depending on the point in the evening.”

The newlyweds were even able to participate in the hora – a traditional celebratory dance they weren’t sure would be possible due to restrictions. “The hora was important for us, but had to be done in a safe and distant manner,” Erika illustrates. “Thankfully, we were able to accomplish that!”

“Being able to celebrate this special time with close friends and family was the most important aspect of the celebration,” affirms the groom, adding that they wouldn’t change anything about their dream day. “It was the most perfect wedding. Everyone had the best time!” muses the bride. Her tip for other couples planning their nuptials is simple: have fun and let go. “I absolutely listened to this piece of advice and had the time of my life with my family and friends,” she confirms. “It was an unreal time, and we feel so fortunate we were able to share this night with the people closest to us.”
