When Margo Edwards and Logan Lubke began their wedding-registry process, they already owned a lot of what they needed, so they decided to pivot a bit from the traditional route and strategize how to best make their wish list work for their future home together. The bride began by creating a list of items that they’d like to replace with nicer pieces. “I then added accents to pull it all together,” she illustrates.

With 400 loved ones on the guest list for their luxurious Texas wedding celebration, the couple decided to create registries at a handful of retailers. “Logan and I went to Crate and Barrel and Williams Sonoma together in person to kind of get an idea of what we thought we wanted. After, I went online and added much more to the registry,” explains Margo of the added online convenience at the larger retailers.

Since the bride had a good sense of what Logan wanted for their home, he encouraged her to take the reins and round out their wish list. “I thought it was really fun looking around and picking things out. We made it an enjoyable experience, but I trusted her to make final decisions,” tells the groom.

At Crate and Barrel, Margo settled on wine and cocktail glasses, along with plates. “I really like their selection of glassware,” she shares, noting that she loves their choice of Schott Zwiesel “Tour” martini glasses. The bride added an Ooni “Koda” pizza oven at Williams Sonoma, as the popular retailer is known for its wide range of handy kitchenware and modern gadgets.

For their final choices at Bed Bath & Beyond, they opted to secure basic household items, as well as garage organization items. “That is not something I would have thought to add, but we saw them while scrolling the website and decided to add them,” says Logan. “I’m glad we did!

“I also went to three local places in my hometown of Midland, Texas, with my mom,” reveals Margo. She selected silver and lovely floral china pieces – including Herend “Blue Border” salad plates embellished with 24K gold from the Queen Victoria collection – from Joanne’s Fine Gifts and gorgeous, unique dishes and platters from Hyacinth and The Canopy. “[It was] so fun to shop and find unique items in person [at] the local small businesses,” she adds.

The newlyweds encourage other couples to consider adding items that they need, even if they may feel silly to include. “Add them even if they are super random items,” the bride suggests. “We do wish we had added airline gift cards to our wish list.”

Overall, Margo and Logan are so happy with what they chose. “We had a great experience at each store! I honestly really enjoyed registering, and it made us excited to start our lives together with new items for our home.”

Wedding Registry Tips from Margo & Logan

Make it a date.

“We went in person together, as almost a date, to get the registry experience and then added more afterwards online.”

Add gift cards.

“It would have been helpful to add gift cards instead of some of the items, so that we could see what we needed once we received all of our gifts.”

Storage space limit.

“Think practically about how much room you have in your home to store your gifts.”
