No matter what a bride's style is, it's guaranteed that she'll want to look beautiful and timeless, yet still modern and unique, on her wedding day. But how can you predict which of today's styles will elicit the same gasps of excitement in 30 years that they do today? Before heading to the bridal salon, familiarize yourself with the latest trends and focus on styles that feature classic silhouettes and details that truly represent you.

Luckily for us, Inside Weddings brides are masters at incorporating modern, trendy touches into their bridal ensembles that will stand the test of time. Below, we've highlighted five dress trends we're seeing among brides that you won't be ashamed of on your 40th anniversary. Want to look like you just stepped off the runway – without frightening conservative relatives with some of today's bold styles and cuts? Consider these trends while shopping for your dream wedding dress:

1. Tulle Skirt

Is there anything more romantic than a full, floating tulle skirt? The ballet-inspired style offers a modern update to traditional ball gowns since it gives brides a classic princess silhouette without a heavy tiered or satin skirt. The look can also be surprisingly versatile: brides can purchase a removable tulle skirt to wear over a sheath gown or minidress for the ceremony, then remove the skirt for the reception! Add some sparkle to your look with a bodice embellished with rhinestones or sequins, and finish with a graceful chapel or cathedral veil. Photos from L-R: Renee Sprink Photography; Jen Yuson Photography

2. Keyhole Back

Brides eager to bring some sex appeal to their ensemble – without shocking conservative guests – will find a happy medium with a keyhole back. The cutout shows just enough skin, while still remaining youthful and chic. Sweep your hair into an updo so as not to obscure your back, and choose a bra without visible straps. Photos from L-R: Ira Lippke Studios; Andi Diamond Photography

3. Long Sleeves

We have Kate Middleton to thank for the surge in popularity of gowns with long sleeves! It's no wonder the Duchess of Cambridge chose this gorgeous style: Sheer sleeves with a touch of lace are traditional and modest, yet theydon't make a bride look like she belongs in the 19th century. Sleeves complement any silhouette, from ball gowns to A-line to sheath, and they can even be paired with a short skirt for a more casual, daring look. Of course, the style also is a natural fit for winter brides — no need to freeze in a strapless gown! Photos from L-R: Katelyn James Photography; Sarah & Ben

4. 1920s-Inspired

The Great Gatsby is back! Jazz Age gowns shimmer with opulent beading in intricate patterns. Even if you're not quite willing to channel the 1920s during the ceremony, party the night away in a fun, fringed reception dress. Of course, these dresses look fabulous in Art Deco venues. To truly pay homage to the 1920s, ask your hair stylist for pin curls or finger waves! Photos from L-R: Danny Baker for Epic Imagery; Jay Lawrence Goldman Photography

5. Colored Reception Dress

Who says reception dresses need to be white? We love brides who aren't afraid to make their grand entrance at the reception in a bold, vibrant party dress. Lace details, as well as tasteful hemlines and necklines, keep the dress refined and appropriate for a wedding, while the fun color lets everyone know you're ready to party! Photos from L-R: Jen Yuson Photography; Elizabeth Messina
